The Heritage Junior Hockey League regular season is underway after a busy weekend of games across the league, including two for the Mountain View Colts.
The Colts began their 2025/2026 campaign on Friday night in Airdrie. The Colts got goals from Connor Campion and Mason Cleays, but would eventually go on to fall 7-2. Nicholas Smith stopped 28/34 shots fired his way in the loss.
On Saturday night the Colts would make their triumphant return to the Didsbury Memorial Complex, after not having played a game on home ice since December of 2024 when they were forced out of their home arena due to a fault in the ice plant.
The Colts would get goals from Spencer McMillin, Ryder Hammer, Aiden Saunders and Sawyer Campbell in the 2nd period to take over the game, while Campion would go on to score his 2nd of the year in the 3rd to cap off a 5-0 home opening win over the Ponoka Stampeders.
Colin MacDougall stopped all 27 attempts from the Stampeders that he faced for his first career HJHL shut out.
Trey Mueller was named Captain of the Mountain View Colts prior to the start of the regular season, he joined 96.5 The Ranch post game Saturday night.
The Colts are now off until September 26th when they welcome the Sylvan Lake Wranglers to the DMC, before traveling to Okotoks to wrap up their September schedule.
