Red Deer Catholic Schools has announced the appointments of Ike Hanna as Associate Superintendent of Learning Services and Nicole Zimmerman as Associate Superintendent of Student Services, effective August 18th.
Officials describe the pair as having extensive experience and display a deep commitment to Catholic education, so they will be welcome additions to the Senior Leadership Team.
Hanna has been a dedicated member of the division since 2003. He holds a Master of Education in Leadership and School Improvement from the U of A, and has held a variety of leadership roles throughout his 20 years with RDCRS, including as Vice Principal and Principal.
Zimmerman has been with RDCRS for more than 30 years and holds her own Master of Education from City University of Seattle, where she received Presidential Honours for Meritorious Achievement. She has led a diverse career with Red Deer Catholic taking on roles as a teacher, French Immersion Lead, Vice Principal, and eventually Principal of several schools.
Acting Superintendent of Schools for RDCRS Ryan Ledene says the division is “thrilled” to welcome the two to the team.
“Their insight, visionary thinking, and proven leadership will be instrumental in driving our shared goals forward and supporting the success of our students, staff, and communities,” he says. “We look forward to the expertise and commitment to excellence they will bring.”
The two will take on their new duties on August 18th, ahead of the 2025/26 school year.
