The name of the game for Westerner Park and Marchant Crane is mutual benefit

At Westerner Park on Thursday afternoon, a new naming rights partnership was announced.

The multi-use facility which is the arena home of the Western Hockey League’s Red Deer Rebels was unveiled as the Marchant Crane Centrium.

Chris Marchant, Founder of Marchant Crane, stepped up to the podium during the June 5th unveiling ceremony. He says “this is the beginning of what we feel will be a long and meaningful partnership with Westerner Park. This is an incredible community and thank you for the warm welcome. We are proud to stand alongside you.”

Although maybe not a household business name yet, Marchant – who was raised just outside of Rocky Mountain House – says the idea behind this is to make a bold statement and be part of the community. He says “I think this is going to help. I think we are going to be here for a long time and I hope to create a legacy in the next decade as well.”

Shelly Flint, CEO of Westerner Park, points out that their collaborative future is being shaped by the power of local business and Marchant Crane Inc. is one that wants to do things in the community. She says “it is important to us because that is what really allows us to reinvest back into our community to put on more events. So having a financial sponsor as well is important, because that is how we put on all the community events that we do that are not revenue generating.” Flint adds partnerships like this are most successful when rooted in shared values and mutual benefit.

This is just the third naming rights sponsor in the facility’s history. What began as the ENMAX Centrium, evolved into the Peavy Mart Centrium, and is now the Marchant Crane Centrium.
