Mix and mingle event kicks off 2025 for Olds & District Chamber of Commerce

Aurora Golf was the site for the first event of the new year for the Olds & District Chamber of Commerce.

A mix and mingle on Tuesday, January 28th afforded those who showed up with opportunities for networking with fellow Chamber members and new businesses along with taking a few swings in Aurora’s golf simulators.

Olds Chamber President Doug Rieberger shares his perspective on the local business community’s outlook for 2025. He says “some of the big problems that we are looking at are maybe not problems but we don’t know right now. A lot of it’s not knowing what is going to happen. There is a lot of stuff up in the air right now with, you know, U.S. tariffs that could affect the economy, slow things down. We’ve got inflation, that’s still sitting on the horizon. As well as, we are also going into a federal election. Right now with all of that in the air, on the business side of things it is a little concerning.”

He notes that yearly memberships with the Olds Chamber are due right now and they are actively looking for more members to join. Rieberger believes there are many benefits to joining the Olds Chamber of Commerce. He says “some of it’s direct benefits with some different member benefits that they can have with it. Discounts and that with shipping, etc  but there’s also some of the benefits are lined right up to the provincial and the government advocacy. We’re part of an organization that is a lot larger – the Alberta Chamber of Commerce, as well as their membership is also a membership into the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.”
