Woman of Influence among six categories for local Women In Business Awards

International Women’s Day will be celebrated during a special event at the Pomeroy Inn & Suites Olds in March.

The 2025 Mountain View & Neighbours Women In Business Awards Luncheon is set for March 7th and it will include six categories for the awards. Mountain View County Reeve Angela Aalbers says “it is really to recognize deserving women who live and work within the borders of Mountain View County, Clearwater County, and Kneehill County so, yeah, it’s just an exciting opportunity to really say thank you to all of those hard working women.”

Reeve Aalbers discusses the Woman of Influence category. She says it “recognizes and celebrates the extraordinary achievements of women who’ve made a significant contribution in their fields and communities. The award honours individuals who exemplify leadership, innovation, and commitment to empowering others  serving as role models and trailblazers for future generations. So it really is a very really high level recognition of those that are just wonderful individuals in the community that serve as role models and support community development.”

Other categories include Woman in Agriculture/Agribusiness or Agrifood, Woman in Hospitality and or Tourism, Woman in Business Newcomer, Woman in Energy, and Woman in Business For Profit, as well as Woman in Business Not-For-Profit.

Nominate deserving award candidates and learn more about the awards luncheon by visiting the Mountain View and Neighbours Women In Business Facebook page. Get your nominations in before February 21st.

Tickets for the 2nd annual event on Friday, March 7th cost $45 per person and you can get them by emailing [email protected].

International Women’s Day in 2025 is slated for Saturday, March 8th.
