Support Operation Christmas Child at West Zion Church on November 8

Each year, Operation Christmas Child provides filled shoebox gifts to individuals who might be in struggling areas around the world.

Cary Funk has been a project leader/volunteer with OCC for the past 22 years. She says “we provide the hope and joy partnering with Samaritan’s Purse. They will sometimes bring in these boxes in war torn areas, refugee camps, places where they have experienced a natural disaster. It’s a way to go and reach out to children and provide them with that little spark of joy throughout the year, not just at Christmas.”

She notes that their packing party is coming up at the West Zion Church on Friday at 7pm. The West Zion Church is located on Township Road #304 between Carstairs and Didsbury

Funk adds, last year they had over two dozen volunteers help them fill up boxes at the packing party.

If you would like to help, call her at 403-589-6237 or to donate directly head online to the Samaritan’s Purse website under their Operation Christmas Child program.
