Harvestfest 2024 set for October 26 in Carstairs

Another homage to the harvest in Mountain View County is set to take place this weekend.
The Carstairs Agricultural Society will celebrate the autumn season at Harvestfest 2024.
Charlie Van Arnam, President of the Carstairs Ag Society, highlights the fact that proceeds of this fundraiser will support the ongoing maintenance and upgrades to the Carstairs Curling Club building. He says “our first step is to upgrade and replace the furnace but there’s some more upgrades that we would like to do if and when we have the funds – upgrade the insulation a little bit to make the building a little more energy efficient for the winter time and there’s some other furnaces and stuff that need a little bit of work over time and just sort of the general maintenance of the building itself. This is not in support of the curling club itself, this is in support of the building that’s used by so many different community groups.”
The Harvestfest Dinner is slated for Saturday at the Carstairs Community Hall. Doors open at 5pm, dinners is at 6, there will be a silent auction, a 50/50 draw, and a dance at 9 o’clock with live music from “Moon Glow”.
He adds, tickets are available on line at carstairsagsociety.ca, and the Carstairs Curling Rink website, or you can get them in-person at the ATB in Carstairs.
