With the Heritage Day long weekend on the horizon, Alberta RCMP are reminding drivers to keep safety top of mind.
Motorists are urged to avoid impaired driving, stay free of distractions, and adjust their speed based on road and weather conditions.
That includes staying alert for other road users like cyclists, pedestrians, and off-highway vehicles.
Seatbelts should be worn at all times, and drivers are encouraged to let someone know their route before heading out.
Sgt. Darrin Turnbull with Alberta RCMP says many collisions are preventable.
He’s urging Albertans to leave early, drive carefully, and help keep roadways safe for everyone this long weekend.
