Innisfail Golf Club Turns 100 Years

The Innisfail Golf Club marked a historic milestone this past weekend, celebrating a century of golf in Central Alberta.

Saturday, July 13th, was the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of IGC.

The club celebrated the occasion with the unveiling of a new tee time clock just outside of the clubhouse.

Paul Goranson is President of the Innisfail Golf Club.

He says the 100th anniversary is a credit to the original founders, the board and all of the countless volunteers who have shaped the club over the years.

A centennial book has been put together by some of the long time members of the club, it’s available to purchase at the clubhouse.

The Innisfail Golf Club will now turn it’s focus to the Canadian Junior Boys Championship running from August 13th to 16th.

It will be the first time the Innisfail Golf Club has hosted a sanctioned Golf Canada national championship.
