Pencil in these upcoming chances to support the back to school supply program in Olds

The first ever adopt-a-student back to school supply program is getting an A + grade for the great response from the community.

Heather Dixon, Community Development Supervisor with the Town of Olds, thanks everyone who has made a difference in a local child’s life by allowing them to start the classroom year with confidence. Dixon says “we had 106 local kids sponsored by community members. That entailed that community member buying them their school supplies from the list that is given to them by the teachers at their school so they are all ready for back to school. We are so appreciative for all the wonderful people in our community.”

You can help support the back to school supply drive by attending a BBQ fundraiser on Wednesday, August 19th from 11am until 1pm at Western Financial Group on 50th Avenue.

There will also be a cram the cruiser with school supplies event with the Olds RCMP from noon until 4pm on Saturday, August 22nd at Walmart.

The students will then be able to pick up the supplies from 4 until 6pm on Tuesday, August 25th when the Back 2 School BBQ Bash is held at the Community Lending Shelf on 50th Street.
