The sun was out and the 6th annual Radiothon on 96.5 The Ranch once again received outstanding support from the community.
Merrell Dickie with Royal LePage Wildrose Real Estate thanked everyone for helping out the Mountain View Emergency Shelter Society. Dickie says “yeah, it was a really nice day weather wise and things have gone really well today. Right now the total is sitting at $22,000 – just over that – with the auction still to come on top of that. So I’m feeling very confident that we will come very, very close to last year’s number which was around $35,000.”
As it does each year, the Radiothon needs a team effort to make it a success. Dickie says “obviously Kiwanis (Club of Olds) showed up today and cooked all the hot dogs that were sold here today. Thanks to No Frills for supplying those. The radio station for all that they’ve done here today and for all the staff that was here from the radio and everything like that. Obviously, it was very good to have the ladies that work at the Mountain View Emergency Shelter here from Kirsten’s Place getting to spread the work about what they are actually doing in the community. All in all a very, very solid day.”
If you missed out on Wednesday, May 6th that is okay because donations are still being accepted at the Royal LePage Wildrose Real Estate Office for the next couple days or you can go online here to donate as well.
The funds raised this year will help cover the operating costs at Kirsten’s Place – a haven for all victims of family violence. More than $420,000 has now been raised during the 6 editions of Radiothon.
