Seniors art program, attending ‘Newsies’ production for youth at GNP in February

Holiday cheer has followed Greenwood Neighbourhood Place into the new year.

As a local recipient of the proceeds from the Holiday Smile Cookie campaign, the Sundre Tim Hortons location passed along a cheque for nearly $2,900 this month.

Meanwhile, Kaley Vandenberg – Resource Coordinator at GNP – mentions that another edition of their very popular 55 plus seniors art program is slated for next month. She says “coming up on Tuesday, February 17th from 10am until 12pm. This is a very relaxed morning focusing on creativity and connection. Registration for this event will open up on February 1st on eventbrite.ca and more details will be in our February ‘Sundre on the Go’ (free, local program flyer).”

Vandenberg adds, The Den is inviting their youth in grades 7 to 12 to come out as a group to watch an upcoming Broadway musical. She says “attend the local production of ‘Newsies’ on Thursday, February 13th from 7 until 10pm. It is a great way to support our local youth talent and tickets are available for The Den kids at www.TheDenSYC.org.”

Vandenberg says GNP is also passing along a big thank you to the volunteers, donors, and local businesses who made a meaningful difference for families by generously supporting Sundre Santas this past Christmas season.
