Olds Humane Society website up and running, planning underway to fetch shelter facility

The Olds Humane Society has a goal of raising $150,000 and working with the town to eventually have a permanent shelter facility in Olds.

Fundraiser Coordinator Abbie Cummings notes that right now they have a lot of foster families that are helping to take care of their animals. She says “so we are looking for foster families or screening for foster families and you can contact us through the Olds Humane Society on Facebook or you can also find us, we just got our web page up and running, so that is oldshumanesociety.com.”

She adds, their Board of Directors meet once a month at Jean’s place in the Community Connection Centre and they are currently looking for a secretary to join them. Cummings says “right now we are all just kind of working out of our homes. We meet once a month over at Jean’s Place in the Community Connection Centre and we are just hoping to keep animals off of the street, so we can get them all spayed and neutered and control some pet population.”

The Olds Humane Society will have silent auction items and donation boxes set up as part of a display at ATB Financial during the month of February.
