The continued collaboration between the Agriculture Financial Services Corporation and Olds College of Agriculture & Technology promises to enhance opportunities for student engagement with in-class presentations and producer-focused skill development training.
The two organizations have re-signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to set the strategic framework for another five years.
According to a media release, AFSC and Olds College will pursue joint applied research projects including automation technologies like drones for programs such as estimating hail damage, along with business risk management analytics and technologies that support AFSC and its clients.
The Agriculture Financial Services Corporation was Olds College’s Partner of the Year award recipient in 2023. Todd Ormann – Vice President, External Relations & Research at Olds College – referred to them as natural allies with AFSC supporting agriculture “through insurance and lending, while Olds College advances agriculture through education and research.” He says “we share a clear vision to transform the industry and support Alberta’s farmers, producers and agriculture industry.”
