Mounties say a pedestrian was struck by a southbound vehicle while attempting to cross the Queen Elizabeth II Highway on Monday, December 8th.
It happened just north of Mackenzie Road near Red Deer at about 11:55am.
According to Blackfalds RCMP, when they arrived the pedestrian was located deceased.
The deceased has been identified as a 31-year-old woman from Red Deer.
Police are continuing to investigate and Alberta RCMP are extending their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
