Innisfail RCMP say a serious motor vehicle collision on Monday evening has resulted in one fatality.
Mounties were called to the scene at about 5:30pm yesterday. It happened on Highway 2 about 4 kilometers north of Innisfail, near Township Road 360.
According to police, a northbound vehicle struck the back of a semi, lost control and was struck by another semi.
RCMP note that the driver of the vehicle – a 54 year-old Airdrie resident – was declared deceased.
No other major injures were reported and the investigation into the collision is ongoing.
Alberta RCMP are extending their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
