Charges laid following Didsbury RCMP investigation into sexual offences against a youth

Allegations of sexual offences committed against a youth has led to the arrest of a man from Carstairs.

The allegations resulted in Didsbury RCMP initiating an investigation on November 3rd and with help from the Luna Child and Youth Advocacy Centre in Calgary, it was “determined the victim had been assaulted on two occasions between 2024 and 2025.” According to police, the sexual assault this year included allegations that “the accused photographed the victim” during it.

Mounties arrested the accused and on the evening of November 3rd a search warrant was executed at his residence. Police say the seizure yielded “numerous evidentiary items.”

The 41-year-old man has been remanded into custody and is set to appear in court in Didsbury on Monday, November 10th. The charges he faces includes two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual exploitation, sexual interference, making child sexual abuse and exploitation material, as well as possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
