Avoid a frightful fate on Friday by following these Halloween safety tips

Alberta RCMP are hoping everyone will be Hallowinners on October 31st by keeping a few fang-tastic safety tips at the forefront.

As always, trick-or-treaters are encouraged to wear brightly coloured costumes, walk on sidewalks, carry a flashlight, and stay in well-lit areas. They are also reminded to stay on the doorstep and never go inside the home or car of someone you don’t know.

For those who will be doling out treats from their homes, police say to only pass out commercially wrapped candy and snacks, keep porch lights on, plus keep doors clear and accessible by not putting out decorations that pose a tripping hazard.

For those attending Halloween parties this weekend, remember not to drive while impaired by alcohol or drugs, and do not take substances from people you do not know or trust.
