Mountain View County issues fire restriction notice

A fire restriction is now in place in all of Mountain View County.

It took effect this afternoon and will remain in place until further notice.

According to Mountain View County officials, all current fire and fireworks permits are hereby cancelled, and no new fire or fireworks permits will be issued until the fire restriction has been lifted.

Under Mountain View County’s fire bylaw activities that are permitted during a fire restriction include the cooking of food using a barbeque, fires in acceptable fire pits or acceptable fireplaces, recreational fires, fires that are fueled by compressed gas, and more.
