A collision in southern Alberta between a semi truck and a sport utility vehicle has claimed the life of a Brampton, Ontario man.
The 24-year-old was the driver of the semi and following the serious motor vehicle crash, police say it caught on fire and he became trapped. The passenger was able to exit the semi truck.
The collision happened at the intersection of Highway 1 and Wheatland Trail in Strathmore and the cause of it remains under investigation.
According to Strathmore RCMP, the driver and passenger of the SUV were not injured.
Mounties extend their condolences to both the family and friends of the deceased.
