Mavericks Elite Lacrosse begin Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League playoffs this weekend

The Mavericks Elite Lacrosse team is eyeing up a run at Junior B tier 1 supremacy. The Mavs will get their Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League playoff run underway on Friday night at the Innisfail Twin Arena. 

The Mavericks earned a first round bye in the RMLL post season, after finishing 1st in the Central Division with a record of 15-4-1, with 31 points they finished 3 ahead of the 2nd place Rockyview Silvertips. 

The Silvertips would then go on to fall in 2 games against the Calgary Chill, who advanced out of the best of 3 series to the Central Division Championship against the Mavs. 

The Chill and Mavericks will now play a best of 3 series. The winner will advance to the Larry Bishop Cup in Fort Saskatchewan, where the 2025 provincial champion will be crowned. 

Jace Victoria led the Mavericks in points this season with 54 in 19 games played, while Hayden Sutherland lit the lamp for 32 goals in 14 games. 

Alex Swan made the majority of starts in goal over the regular season, he carries a 82.9 save percentage and was second in the Central Division in saves made with 505. 

Game 1 of the RMLL Central Division Championship is on Friday night at 8PM in Innisfail, game #2 is scheduled for Sunday in Calgary while game #3 if necessary would come on Monday.
