Agri-Trade Expo seeking attendance record as it celebrates 40th anniversary

Agri-Trade celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
It will run from Wednesday through Friday (November 13-15) at Westerner Park in Red Deer.
David Fiddler, Senior Advisor to the Agri-Trade Equipment Exposition, always says it is the right show, at the right time, in the right location. He says “there is so many things that come together to make that work. You are in some of the most productive soil regions in western Canada. It’s right after harvest. It’s a time when everybody knows what they’ve got in the bank or in the bin and they are ready to do some shopping. It works really well and it has become a real buying show.”
Fiddler estimates that there were fewer than 100 exhibitors in the first year of the Agri-Trade Equipment Expo, but now they have over 500 and they use every inch of the facility at Westerner Park plus a lot of the outdoor space as well.
He is optimistic they will set an attendance record this year. Fiddler says “we try to set a record every year, but we usually get around between 28,000 and 32,000 people. I’m really hopeful that this year with it being the 40th anniversary we’re going to break 40,000 people coming to see the show.”
According to Fiddler, Agri-Trade generates in excess of $300 million in ag equipment and services sales annually to the agricultural economy. He says “it is a business show. Agri-Trade is a show that is focused on the business of agriculture. We certainly welcome anyone to come, but certainly it is targeted to farmers and ranchers from throughout western Canada. We also have a lot of international exhibitors and visitors coming from Germany, Poland, Ireland, all over the United States. It has become quite an attraction to the world of agriculture around the world.”
