Vigen, Laboucane and Glass set to Dash for Cash at 2025 Rangeland Derby

After nine days of racing it has all come down to one trip around the track for three members of the World Professional Chuckwagon Association at the 2025 Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby.

Chanse Vigen from Calgary, Jamie Laboucane from St. Walburg, Saskatchewan and Jason Glass from High River earned their spot in the big money final heat at this year’s Stampede thanks to posting the top three times so far in the aggregate standings.

Vigen leads the way after Night 9 thanks to a total running time of 10:54.33 in his VisitLethbridge.com outfit. Laboucane was second with a 10:55.54 in his Panorama Advisory Group wagon, and Glass was third with a 10:59.07 in his Birchcliff Energy Ltd. outfit. Left on the outside looking in was every other wagon that didn’t break the 11:00.00 mark including Rae Crouteau Jr from Rapid View, Saskatchewan in fourth with a 11:01.23 and Obrey Mototwylo from Hoadley with a 11:01.53.

Crouteau Jr. had the fastest time on Saturday, July 12th with a 1:11.84 in his Bar L5 Ranches wagon. Glass was second with a 1:11.90 and Logan Gorst from Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan rounded out the top three times on Night 9 with a 1:12.40 in his Heart Lake Group of Companies outfit.

Vigen is looking for his first Rangeland Derby championship as a driver and so is Laboucane. Glass is a two time winning driver at the Calgary Stampede with his first win coming in 2013 . He’ll be trying to go for back-to-back titles after winning again last year (2024).
