Olds College announces Dalin Bullock as Vice President, Academic after nine months as the interim

After nine months as the interim, Olds College has officially announced Dalin Bullock as Vice President, Academic, effective July 1st.

Bullock is known around campus for his commitment to students and new, industry-standard education. Bullock says throughout the past nine months, he has gained a thorough understanding of the significance of the role, and the importance of strong leadership in the academic division, especially as Olds College rolls out its three-year strategic plan.

“I guess the interim period gave me a bit of a good sense as to what the role will entail, but also recognizing that taking the position on, on a permanent basis, is a bit of added responsibility, and it will be an exciting time over the next number of years,” he says.

Bullock joined Olds College in 2004 and boasts more than 20 years of experience in post-secondary leadership, working as an instructor and program coordinator, Interim VP of Student Services, Dean of Agriculture, and more. He maintains that no matter the role he occupies, one factor is consistent across the board – students.

“I moved to Olds nearly 21 years ago, where I have had multiple positions, primarily as a dean at Olds, and I guess the thing that’s important to me in all of my time within post-secondary, is about the student,” he says. “Students are the reason we exist, they’re the reason I’m committed and want to be involved in post-secondary.”

Before stepping into his new role, Bullock was the Dean of the School of Life Science and Business for eight years.
