Jamie Laboucane jumps out to early lead at Wainwright Stampede

Two of the top three times on the opening night of the WPCA races in Wainwright for 2025 came from Heat 11.

Jamie Laboucane from St. Walburg, Saskatchewan got his Wild Rows Pump & Compression Ltd. outfit around the track in 1:04.14 on Friday, just ahead of High River’s Jason Glass. Glass crossed the finish line in his Birchcliff Energy Ltd. wagon in 1:04.24.

Chance Flad from Arrowwood and his Hall & Company Professional Chartered Accountants outfit was third with a 1:04.33 in Heat 2.

Rounding out the top five were D.J. King from Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan with Northern Livestock Sales and Darcy Flad from Bodo with The Broda Group. They actually tied for fourth with both getting the job done in 1:04.49.

Two more days of chuckwagon racing are on tap in Wainwright and all of it can be heard on 96.5 The Ranch. Start time on both Saturday, June 21st and Sunday, June 22nd is 5pm. 96.5 The Ranch is the radio broadcast home of the 2025 WPCA Pro Tour.
