Unofficial opening night results from 2024 Oldstoberfest Pro Rodeo

The Oldstoberfest Pro Rodeo began on Friday, September 13th on the Olds Regional Exhibition grounds.

Unofficial leaders after night 1 include Colton Ouellette from Rapid View, Saskatchewan in bareback (74 points), Cody Cassidy from Donalda in steer wrestling (4.0 seconds), the tandem of Tee McLeod from Waldeck, Saskatchewan and Sid Sporer from Cody, Wyoming in team roping (5.5 seconds), Jason Smith from Wimborne in tie-down roping (9.5 seconds), Karlie Cowie Mankota, Saskatchewan in barrel racing (17.15 seconds), and Kylie Whiteside from Longview in breakaway roping (2.2 seconds).

There was a tie for first place in saddle bronc. Sawyer Eirickson from Okotoks and Cody Albertson Crossfield both posted 84 point rides.

No cowboys made it the full 8 seconds bull riding on Friday so that is wide open heading into tonight.

96.5 CKFM will have live coverage of the second and final performance of the Oldstoberfest Pro Rodeo this evening at 6 o’clock.

The Oldstoberfest Pro Rodeo is part of the 2025 season for the Canadian Pro Rodeo Association.

The 2024 season will conclude with the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Edmonton from October 2nd through the 5th.
