Saskatchewan’s Riley Braaten Rolls Past The Competition In Vegreville

The Alberta Professional Chuckwagon and Chariot Association spent last week in Vegreville.

Five days of racing excitement at the Vegreville Country Fair saw Riley Braaten from Archerwill, Saskatchewan win both the dash for cash and this year’s title for total aggregate time at the event. Braaten’s total running time for five performances was 344.77 seconds. Allan Bengston from Bluffton was a close second with a total time of 346.53 seconds.

The winner at the Vegreville Country Fair in the chariots was Cody Leach from Weekes, Saskatchewan with a total running time for five days of racing of 331.22 seconds. The Darren Twerdochlib outfit from Viking, driven by Brett Dubuc from Fort Saskatchewan, won the dash for cash in the carts.

The APCCA goes to Westlock for a three day event this week from Friday through Sunday (August 16-18).

Still to come before the end of the 2024 season are stops in Sundre (August 23-25), Patricia (August 30-September 1), and Millarville (September 6-8).
