Mountain View County Lifts Fire Ban

Mountain View County lifted its fire ban this week.

The fire ban had initially been implemented in the County back on July 24th.

However, due to recent and forecasted precipitation and a subsequent decrease in fire risk within Mountain View County, the fire ban was lifted effective August 6th.

According to the County, “the public is still urged to exercise extreme caution while burning and use precautionary measures such as screens and spark arrestors on burning barrels, cultivate areas surrounding controlled burns and have a supply of water readily available at all times.”

Mountain View County officials also point out that the area located within the Forest Protection Area remains in a fire ban state and is regulated by the Province of Alberta. More details are available online at AlbertaFireBans.ca.
