Motorcycle Collision In Red Deer County Claims Life Of Fort McMurray Man

Innisfail RCMP were called to the scene of a motorcycle collision at about 4pm on July 28th.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 33-year-old male resident of Fort McMurray, was deceased when police arrived.

According to RCMP, a Red Deer County Peace Officer was patrolling on Range Road 25 near Township Road 350 when a sports bike was observed driving south bound on Range Road 25 at an excessive speed.

The motorcycle was recorded as traveling at 237 kilometers and hour in an 80 kilometer per hour zone.

Mounties say “the Peace Officer activated his emergency lights, however before he could make a u-turn the rider lost control on a curve and crashed his motorcycle into a small wooded area.”

The incident happened in the area of Range Road 25 and Township Road 350 in Red Deer County.
