2024 Sundre Pro Rodeo Will Feature Largest Contestant Draw In Its History

It is time once again to Go Wild! Go West!
Shane Crouch President of the Sundre Pro Rodeo says it is going to be another special weekend for the Town with what he thinks is the largest contestant draw they have ever had so it has been fantastic that way. He really appreciates the contestants showing their support for the Sundre Pro Rodeo. He says “With our junior events and everything we’re sitting at about 625 contestants this year. So professional cowboys and cowgirls we’re sitting right at 580, I think, which is an absolutely huge draw. We’ve got 50 bull riders coming this year. We’ve never had 50 bull riders at our rodeo and we’ve got 50 saddle bronc riders coming. There is 156 barrel racers coming. So it goes on, and on, and on here just with the amount of entries that we have this weekend.”
He points out that being part of the SMS Pro Tour again this year has definitely been a benefit to their event. Crouch says “Having Wainwright on the same weekend, we’re two tour rodeos on the same weekend and I think that just helps us out and Wainwright. I’ve seen their draw as well and they’ve got a fantastic , you know, list of contestants going there as well. So I think it has been hugely beneficial for us and we’ve got four rodeos on that weekend too. Between High River and Bassano and us and Wainwright it’s just kind of the kick off to the summer run and we’re excited to have everybody here.”
Crouch says they’ve got McDougall Flats Church ‘family fun zone’ so the kids can come in and play on inflatables.
He adds, they’ve also got the most non-food vendors they’ve ever had, plus they also have everything imaginable as far as food goes too.
Full rodeo performances take place on Friday (June 21st) night, as well as in the afternoon on both Saturday (June 22nd) and Sunday (June 23rd).
