Chili Dog Extravaganza In Centennial Park On June 19 Will Be Supporting Kirsten’s Place

A Chili Dog Extravaganza is coming up this month and everyone is invited to come out for this special family event.
Pastor Olav Traa with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Olds notes that Clint’s Kitchen was the brain child of Clint Jackson and it is a soup kitchen which is held every Wednesday at the church for supper.
Pastor Olav says they started it on Valentine’s Day of this year and it has blossomed from there to an evening each week where people from all walks of life come and join in to have supper with them. He says their attendance is way up from what it was before.
He adds, they are working in coordination with the Rotary Club of Olds to hold a free Chili Dog Extravaganza on Wednesday from 5pm until 7 in Centennial Park with Whitecap Resources on hand with their monster BBQ to grill up the dogs. He says “So we are inviting people to come on out. Do bring your lawn chairs. All of the food is going to be free, as it always is. One of the kinda really neat, little features that’s going to happen on that Wednesday is a fellow by the name of Jake Peters is going to come out and provide live music. He is country, blue grass with a little bit of rock and roll mixed in. He is going to bring his instruments and provide live music for us all night long.”
According to Pastor Olav, they have decided that all donations received at that event will be given to support Kirsten’s Place. He says “That is the new shelter that’s being built just right across the street from where this park is. So all of this is that is going on, on the 19th is for the benefit of not only the citizens of Olds – so they can get together and have a good time – but any financial contributions received on that day will be donated to Kirsten’s Place here in Olds.”
