Join The Community Conversation About Public Art In Innisfail From June 17-19

There are a few opportunities coming up next week in the Town of Innisfail for community conversations on public art.
Ken Kowalchuck, Communications and Marketing Manager with the Town, says the goal is to develop a public art framework. He says “These sessions are going to be discussing the history of public art in Innisfail but also looking for the community’s values and aspirations in developing a framework. Really it is open to anybody in the community. It really is not something that should be limited to people who create art. It is for everybody in the community because this is about community projects that are important to everyone.”
Kowalchuk adds, there will be three sessions for the community conversation on public art next week. He says “Well they are facilitated, however, the sessions will be seeking feedback from the community. Again, we are looking for the key pieces to build that framework about what the community is looking for in public art.”
All of them will be held at the Library Learning Centre Community Room in Innisfail. The first is on Monday, June 17th from 5:30pm until 7:30. The second is on Tuesday, June 18th from noon until 2pm. According to the Town of Innisfail, individuals can also request an in-person, 45 minute session on Wednesday, June 19th between 9am and noon.
The deadline to sign up is this Friday. You can register and find out more details by going online to innisfail.ca/art.
