The most recent Olds RCMP quarterly report was presented to Town council last week.
Mayor Dan Daley is very much in favour of seeing local police make efforts to be more visible and part of the community. He feels it is a great idea and a great incentive for our town. Mayor Daley says “with their community walks, with their visits to high schools, talking to people on the street and so forth, and now they are talking about doing bike patrols. Things like that. That is so proactive on their part to be able to have themselves out in the community and being accessible for people that may not always want to go into a station to talk to them.”
The quarterly reporting period for the Olds RCMP saw officers issue 57 traffic enforcement tickets, remove 12 impaired drivers from the road, they also responded to 22 domestic violence-related files, and they investigated 25 theft-related files.
