At the recent annual general meeting for Olds & District Rural Crime Watch, Gerald Ingeveld was elected as the organization’s new President.
He highlights the fact that most of their members are from Mountain View County, so that is their main focus area. Ingeveld says “we always have presentations from either our local RCMP detachments – because we do cover three detachment areas – or we have someone come out from a provincial association to just give us a little bit of information of what should we be looking out for in the community and also what are the trends? What are the crime trends in our community? What are the things that are happening maybe in other communities that we should be watching out for here in ours.”
Ingeveld says Olds Rural Crime Watch is in the process of re-doing its website and he encourages community members to join come out for their next meeting, which will be in June and it will be accompanied by a BBQ. Follow them on Facebook or visit the website.
The executive was rounded out at the AGM with Jason Leach elected as Treasurer and Shelley Ingeveld as Secretary.
