Three-peat for 96.5 The Ranch as County Music Alberta’s Radio Station of the Year

The hardware was handed out over the weekend in Edmonton at the 15th annual Country Music Alberta Awards.

96.5 The Ranch in Olds has once again played all the right notes and was selected as the Radio Station of the Year in the Small/Medium Market category.

This is the third year in a row and the fourth time in the last five years that 96.5 has been named Radio Station of the Year.

Drew Gregory from Standard, Alberta captured two awards – Horizon Single of the Year for “One For The Road” and Songwriter of the Year along with Wade Kirby for “Work In Progress – while Devin Cooper from Innisfail won the Community Spirit Award.

After graduating from the broadcasting program at Mount Royal College (Class of 2003), it was off to the Town of Olds for the launch of the independent radio station (CAB-K Broadcasting). A fan of all seasons, Galen has been News Director & the voice of the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Olds Grizzlys on 96.5 CKFM/ROCK 104.5 for two decades and in 2024 he was excited to have the opportunity to join the team at Vista Radio and My Mountain View Now.
