Alberta Beef Producers are ringing in the new year with a little more cowbell.
ABP Chair Doug Roxburgh highlights the fact that producer meetings will be held across the province both later this month and in February. He says “I think they are really important because Alberta Beef Producers is driven by the producers and the members that make up our organization and so getting in front of producers, letting them bring resolutions forward and starting the year off fresh really allows us to kind of reset from where we finished up 2025 and start to have some vision for what we see coming forward into the next year and years to come.”
He adds, discussions and resolutions brought forward at these gatherings are important to the success of ABP. Roxburgh says “the big thing we say to producers is if you want to put a resolution forward, you have to be a the meetings yourself. So you can go online, you can get the forms. We’ll have forms at the meetings as well. Bring your ideas and start to put those resolutions forward within your zone, they’ll get voted on and then we’ll take it back to our AGM that will happen here at the end of February, beginning of March.”
The Producer Meeting for ABP in Olds is coming up on January 27th at Olds College of Agriculture and Technology and tickets are available on abpdaily.com.
