Lego tops list of most requested gifts ahead of annual toy drive for Olds Christmas Angels

The Toy Drive is coming up this week for the Olds Christmas Angels Society.

Claire Rosehill, Board Member with the Christmas Angels, says they will be set up in the Olds Canadian Tire parking lot on Friday, December 12th from 3 until 6pm. Rosehill says “all of the Angels will be there collecting toys, happily taking cash donations. We’ll have hot chocolate and some donuts and coffee, and the radio station – you guys are going to be there with us. So it is a great kind of last push for us before we start getting hampers together the following week.”

Rosehill points out that it has been a great month of lots of support from the community, as usual. She says “the (Olds Fire Department’s) Boot Drive raised over $6,300, which is amazing. We split that with other service groups in town but that is a huge fundraiser for us. The Battle of the Broncos, any 50/50 funds and funds from their raffle table and stuff all goes to the Christmas Angels, so we expect to get over $2,000 from that as well. We are in our final push and we will find out kind of next week when we start to make hampers, you know, where we are sitting for toy donations and cash collections and all of that.”

She says the Olds Christmas Angels will be accepting gifts until December 15th and there is a link for their gift registry on their Facebook page. A list of most requested gifts posted on their page has Lego first, Bluetooth speaker second, Squishmallows third, make-up fourth, and art supplies rounds out the top five.
