32nd annual Olds Fashioned Christmas starts today

The 32nd annual Olds Fashioned Christmas kicks off today, a tradition that’s been spreading holiday cheer since 1993. Powered entirely by volunteers, the celebration fills the community with festive events all throughout the holiday season.

Today, things start with a Merry Movie Matinee at Mayfair Cinema at 2 PM. The Centennial Park “Light Up the Park” has been cancelled due to inclement weather.

Tomorrow, BGC Olds and Area hosts the Touch of Christmas Market from 10 to 4 at the Future Ag Events Centre. The Grinchmas Swim follows at the Olds Aquatic Centre from 1 to 4. And at 5:30, the streets glow with festive joy for the Santa Claus Parade of Lights.

Then on Sunday, November 30th, families can Skate with Buddy the Elf at the Sportsplex from noon to 1:15. Show off your creative talents and take part in a Christmas Tree Decorating Contest at Canadian Tire from 1 to 3pm and wrap up the weekend with the Kick-off to Christmas Fireworks at Rotary Athletic Park at 7 PM.

Plenty more festive events are scheduled for December, for a full list of holiday themed events check out the Olds Fashioned Christmas Facebook page.
