Mayor Richard Warnock re-elected by acclamation, eight candidates running for Sundre council

Sundre’s Mayor is back in for another term.

Richard Warnock was officially re-elected this week by acclamation. He says “there is always things to do but I really felt that I have a good step up on working for a new hospital in the Town of Sundre and completing a couple tasks in regards to our waste water and I felt I had the energy and the desire to do another four years and commit to the Town of Sundre and the next council. So I’m looking forward to it. I’m extremely proud, and honoured to be acclaimed for the next four year term.” This will be Warnock’s second term as Mayor and overall it will mark his third term on Sundre council.

There are a total of 8 candidates running for 6 council seats in Sundre including 5 incumbents – Connie Anderson, Todd Dalke, Paul Isaac, Jaime Marr, and Owen Petersen. Also running for council are Jacki Bohn, Cheri Buchan, and Rob Wolfe. The lone current councillor not running for re-election in Sundre is Chris Vardas.

The advanced vote ahead of the October 20th municipal election will be on Thursday, October 9th from noon until 4pm at the Sundre Community Centre. Go to sundre.com for more details.
