Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills by-election: UCP candidate is Tara Sawyer

The first woman to serve as Chair of the Grain Growers of Canada is the United Conservative Party candidate in the upcoming Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills by-election.

Tara Sawyer stepped down from her role as Chair of GGC last month to run. Sawyer and her family farm near Acme. In 2014, they received the Calgary Stampede BMO Farm Family Award.

Sawyer is honoured to be the candidate for the United Conservative Party in this by-election. She says “I think it is important that we keep a nice, united province that’s strong together, fighting for our interests and I think that as the UCP candidate I can do that.”

With the short campaign ahead of the by-election, Sawyer says she is blessed to have the support of the UCP constituency association and her family. She looks forward to connecting with everyone in the riding and hearing what matters to them. Sawyer says “it’s something that I feel passionate about. Being able to be a voice for the people of this riding. It is something that I did in my background with Alberta Grains, my work with the commissions it has always been to be the voice for the people. So I’m excited to help in any way I can to keep this strong Alberta that we have.”

The voters go to the polls for the by-election on June 23rd.

Vista Radio provided the opportunity for each of the candidates in the upcoming Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills by-election to have an election profile air on the news.
