Variety Of Opportunities Available As 2024 Summer Camping Season Begins In Alberta

This is the May long weekend and it annually marks the unofficial start of the 2024 summer camping season in Alberta.

According to the provincial government, Alberta’s parks system currently includes 250 campgrounds with almost 14,000 campsites in more than 470 provincial parks and recreation sites.

As of May 1st, over 68,000 reservations have been made, representing more than 231,000 nights of camping in Alberta parks.

Go online to AlbertaParks.ca to make reservations up to 90 days ahead of your trip for individual and backcountry campsites, or 180 days ahead of group and comfort camping.

There is also a ‘Camping this Weekend’ feature to find a reservable site for spur-of-the-moment adventure seekers.
