Another successful Smile Cookie campaign is in the books.
100 percent of the proceeds from every Smile Cookie sold at Tim Hortons locations across the nation from April 29th through May 5th supported charities and community groups in Canada.
Quinn Jacobs, one of the owners of the local Tim Hortons locations, says they were very happy with the results.
In all their local communities combined, Jacobs points out that they were just over $40,000 dollars raised this year.
He says in Olds they were at just under $11,000 dollars ($1,0918.50), Innisfail just over $11,000 dollars ($11,092), in Sundre right around $9,000 dollars ($8988), just below $7,000 dollars in Didsbury ($6,583.50), and just under $3,000 dollars in Bowden ($2,667)
According to Jacobs, in Olds they supported the Hope 4 MVC Kids Society, in Didsbury it was Essentials for Our Community Didsbury, out in Sundre it was Sundre Nutrition for Learning, in Innisfail was the Ecole John Wilson School Parent Society, and in Bowden it was the Bowden Grandview School.
He says “To get involved with Smile Cookie week they can definitely just reach right out to us at store level. We do try to spread around to different community charities and if they are interested, again they can reach right out to us. We do an application process or they could reach out right to Tim Hortons directly and they will get a hold of us as well. We are always looking for new people to work with, so I encourage people if you are interested for your group, definitely reach out.”
Jacobs says they couldn’t do it without the community support, so they just want to thank everyone again who stopped in to purchase Smile Cookies last week.
