2025 Rutabaga Bowl: Will a large crowd turnip for it at Crossfield Farmers Market?

Tasty treats and silly fun with turnips are all part of this weekend’s farmers market in Crossfield.

The February Food Fest runs from 10am until 4pm on Saturday, February 22nd at the Crossfield Community Centre.

Cheryl Shea with the Crossfield Farmers Market says their February Food Fest is strictly food and beverages, and food related. She notes they will have about 90 vendors on hand for it. Shea says “we have bakers. We have meat makers. We have spirits, wine, honey, everything food related. We have some of the absolute food vendors in Alberta best coming this weekend. We have vendors coming from as far as St. Albert, Lethbridge, out to Canmore. It’s really a worthwhile farmers market to come to.”

According to Shea, they will also have some fun with the 4th annual rutabaga bowling competition. She says “it has really grown over the years and we are bowling with rutabagas. We have a kids division and an adults division. It’s very unpredictable and it’s just ridiculously silly.”
