Government Of Canada Adds Funding To Help Promote Canadian Maple Syrup Globally

The feds are making sure the world knows that our country has the best maple syrup out there.

The Government of Canada has committed an additional $3.6 million to the Quebec Maple Syrup Producers through the Agri-Marketing Program, an initiative under the Sustainable Canadian Agriculture Partnership.

Maple Syrup is an iconic Canadian product, topping $615 million worth of exports in 2023.

Canada’s Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Lawrence MacAulay, says this investment will help spread the word about the quality, versatility and sustainability of Canadian Maple Syrup, to drive demand, increase our exports and create more opportunities for hardworking maple producers.

The investment will allow the Quebec Maple Syrup Producers to increase promotion and sales throughout Germany, the UK, Australia and Japan.

Promotional activities will highlight maple syrups versatility in cooking and baking, it’s nutritional value and it’s sustainability through print and digital content.

The Canadian Maple Syrup industry accounts for 78% of the world’s maple syrup production, with 92% of the Canadian production coming form Quebec.
