Extra special: Special Olympics donut sales significantly surpass last year’s totals

A round of super special thanks are going out to the communities of Olds, Sundre, Innisfail, Bowden, and Didsbury.

From January 31st through February 2nd, the Special Olympics/Tim Horton’s Inclusion Donut Campaign was held.

Quinn Jacobs with Tim Hortons was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with some amazing athletes. He adds, they nearly doubled last year’s totals with $3,316 raised as compared to $1,590 in 2024.

#ChooseToInclude campaign annually sees 100 per cent of the proceeds from the purchase of a Special Olympics Donut support sports programs for athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Canada.

Karen Mengersen with Special Olympics Olds & District notes the money raised from the campaign will be filtered down to affiliates in each province and in Olds they will receive their portion of the proceeds based on the number of athletes they have registered.
