No injuries reported from train collision in Didsbury

Traffic has resumed at the intersection where a collision involving a train occurred earlier today (Monday, December 9th) in the Town of Didsbury.

As of just after 2pm, Didsbury RCMP were advising the public that the train has been removed from the collision scene.

Police note that it was not a truck as initially reported but rather a zoom boom which had mechanical trouble while making its way over the tracks at the 19th Avenue crossing.

Mounties say this all happened as a train was approaching and, unfortunately, the train collided with the zoom boom on the tracks.

The investigation is continuing and no injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

23rd Street, secondary Highway 582, and 19th Avenue were blocked during the traffic delay caused by the train versus zoom boom collision.
