The Foothills Cowboy Association spent last weekend (August 15-16) at the Didsbury Ag Society Exhibition Grounds.
When the dust settled, Sundre’s Rees Wilson came out on top in steer wrestling thanks to a time of 6.6 seconds.
Other winners in Didsbury included Jaxon Campbell from Wheatland County in bareback (60 points), B.J. Zieffle in tie down roping (12.1 seconds), the duo of Sheldon and Braden Lange in team roping (8.2 seconds), Katelyn Willsie from Caroline in ladies breakaway roping (3.1 seconds), Crystal Loughran from Mayerthorpe in ladies barrel racing (16.069 seconds). There were no qualified rides in bull riding.
Thomas French from Australia was the winner in both saddle bronc (72 points) and novice horse riding (70 points), while Charlie Guinn from Kananaskis was first in ranch broncs (63 points).
Winners in the junior events at the Didsbury Rodeo included Daxton Pringle from Caroline in junior bull riding (70 points), Rex Curtis from Donalda in junior steer riding (70 points), Ellie Havens from Madden in junior breakaway roping (2.6 seconds), Jet Daines from Wildwood in junior barrel racing (16.427 seconds), and Emma Charbonneau from St. Paul in pee wee barrel racing (17.177 seconds).
There are just two events left in 2025 for the FCA. The Cochrane Lions Rodeo is slated for August 30th through September 1st, while the season ending FCA Finals will run on September 26th and 27th in High River.
