Town of Olds advising of water service repairs, traffic and water disruptions expected

The Town of Olds is advising residents of water service repairs that will result in some interruptions to traffic flow on 51st Street.

This comes two days after the town implemented water restrictions for the entire municipality after a “substantial disruption” to the water system.

Restrictions were lifted just a few hours after their implementation; however, beginning on July 2nd, water repairs in the area of 5117 51st Street will result in interruptions to traffic and water service.

According to the town, commuters can expect single-lane traffic, with interruptions to traffic flow and speed reductions throughout the duration of the project.

Starting on July 2nd at 8:00 a.m., crews will be on site, and drivers are asked to look out for and obey any workers and signs. Additionally, residents can expect “occasional, intermittent interruptions” to water service throughout the project’s two-day duration.
