RCMP dispatched to fatal plane crash near Vermilion

Two people were killed when a plane crashed north of Vermilion this weekend.

It happened just before 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 21st and police say the plane “was located approximately 1.2 kilometers short of the local airport runway.”

Mounties say the two occupants of the plane “did not survive the crash.”

Condolences are being passed along by the RCMP to the family and friends of the 46-year-old female pilot from Slave Lake and the 76-year-old male passenger from Mannville.

The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.
