Thank a paramedic during National Paramedic Services Week

May 18th marked the beginning of National Paramedic Services Week and Alberta Health Services is asking residents to take the opportunity to thank an Alberta paramedic.

AHS says the week is about taking some time to celebrate one of the most integral parts of the province’s public health system, so residents are encouraged to take some time to learn about and better understand EMS’ role in the health service.

Currently, the province employs around 4,000 paramedics who service more than 670K ground ambulance calls every year.

“AHS thanks paramedics for the hard work and professional care they provide each and every day to thousands of Albertans and for supporting one another,” AHS says. “EMS is and essential component to Alberta’s healthcare system and AHS values the work paramedics do for Albertans.

You can share your appreciation for Alberta’s paramedics by sending a thank you note through AHS’ website.
